Adult Mental Health First Aid Certification Opportunities
As part of SCHA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the healthcare workforce experience, the WHY Initiative is offering Adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) certification training to SCHA member hospitals and agency partners.
Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based, nationally recognized training that teaches participants how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges in adults. Participants learn how to provide initial support, reduce stigma, promote resilience and well-being, and help create psychologically safe environments.
The SCHA WHY Team is offering two blended training options this fall. Each training includes approximately 2 hours of self-paced pre-work, followed by 6 hours of instructor-led training. The instructor-led portion will be offered either in person or virtually, depending on the session selected.
